People Intelligence:The Science of Emotional Skills and Deception

Categories: TAHRA Learning Lab

Presented by Tamara Lebak, PCC

Emotional awareness of ourselves and others is considered by many to be the most important skill required for successful leadership. This lab, grounded in science, will introduce how our own emotions are triggered and how to more effectively manage them. It will also introduce how to determine the emotions of others for more effective relationships. This training and consulting has direct business applications in Human Resource Management including bad hires and interviewing. Studies have shown that 80% of turnover is attributed to bad hires and cost of a bad hire can be 5 times that employees' salary. According to Forbes, "81% of job candidates lied about themselves during interviews and that on average almost three lies are told for every 15 minutes of discussion".

At this lab you will:

  • Outline the framework of emotional awareness and how it applies in a corporate environment.
Understand how to prepare your own emotional profile.
Test your ability to read universal emotions on the face.
