December Learning Lab

FLSA Changes, Employee Handbook’s, Documentation and Managing Performance OH MY!

Categories: TAHRA Learning Lab

In an ongoing effort to serve our community and advance the HR profession, the Tulsa Area Human Resources Association is offering the second of our HR Foundation Session Learning Labs. These labs are geared towards organizations and businesses with little or no HR support as well as TAHRA members who would like to learn about new ideas and programs that local businesses are successfully using in their organizations. At these two labs, non-profit entities and small businesses will receive the TAHRA rate ($15) to attend the lab by using the promo code "Discount". Attend both HR Foundation Sessions and automatically be entered for drawings for TAHRA membership and events.

Please join us for the final Learning Lab of 2016 with Chris Thrutchley, J.D., SPHR, SHRM-SCP, and Heidi Hartman, SPHR, SHRM-SCP.  It will focus on providing participants information regarding Employee Handbook preparation, how to document and manage performance and help manage crucial conversations between leaders and employees as well as the FLSA – where do we go from here?

Learning Objectives:

  • What key information do you need in an employee handbook?
  • How best to manage performance, and what we need to document (and NOT document!)
  • Key ways to have performance discussions.
  • What we think the FLSA will look like moving forward.
