What will be your company's 2nd holiday on the 2010 holiday calendar? Thurs, 12/23 or Mon, 12/27?
Christmas is on Saturday, so 12/24/10 will be one holiday, but our company provides two days off at Christmas. Thanks for your feedback as we are planning our 2010 holiday calendar.

At Guardian, when a holiday falls on Saturday, we observe Friday as the paid holiday. If the holiday falls on Sunday, we observe Monday as the paid holiday.

I think its a matter of preference...would people prefer the Wed thru Sun or Fri thru Mon off for their 4 day holiday weekend? My suggestion, take a quick poll of your workforce to see what they would like to do. It will not make everyone happy, but maybe majority rules and employees will feel like they had a say in the matter.

Our company does the same thing as Guardian. In my opinion, if I got 2 days for Christmas I would like the 23rd and 24th. Gives you more travel time for the holiday.
