April Program Meeting

#MeToo, Harassment and Protected Classes

Categories: TAHRA Program Meeting
Presented by Steve Broussard
Hall Estill

With the rise of the #MeToo movement, a spotlight has been refocused on harassment in the workplace. Much of the media have gotten behind the movement and have been quick to condemn employers for “failing” to prevent harassment in the workplace, to take complaints of workplace harassment seriously and to conduct effective investigations into allegations of misconduct. In light of the current environment, it is a good time for HR professionals to reexamine their companies’ anti-harassment policies and procedures.

At this program you will learn:

  • How the #MeToo movement has impacted employers.
  • What are the “protected classes” in the #MeToo era?
  • What are the best practices for anti-harassment policies and procedures?
  • How to implement best practices and procedures in the workplace?
