July Program Meeting

Personal Leadership = Emotional Intelligence

Categories: TAHRA Program Meeting
Presented by Nancy Gunter

What is Emotional Intelligence? In short, it is your ability to manage yours and others emotions to adapt to environments in order to achieve your goals. Your personal leadership style is directly connected to your level of Emotional Intelligence (EI). Regardless of what you have heard of EI this session will open your eyes to how you and every other person in the world is made up and why you (and they) do some of the things you do. All of the EI information is research based which means it isn’t someone’s idea of how they THINK things operate. It is factual and gives concrete explanation as to what happens to us when we are in a given situation.

Your personal leadership style is directly connected to your level of Emotional Intelligence (EI). This course provides you with strategies to communicate, coach, and model behavioral expectations within your organization. It also provides practical strategies for managing emotions while communicating, thus producing a more effective culture where the company’s core values can thrive.

Why is this program critical now more than ever?

  • Have you had someone say something to you and 15-20 minutes later you have the PERFECT comeback --- but they are already gone?
  • Have you ever said “yes”, when you meant to say “no”?
  • Have you ever seen someone lose control of a group or create a hostile situation because they didn’t realize what was happening around them?

If you said YES to any of these, that is Emotional Intelligence – BUT, EI is so much more than just that…

The good news is that Emotional Intelligence can INCREASE for the rest of your life!  If you want to improve your Personal Leadership, you CAN!

Leadership is critical to the success of any organization. That doesn’t mean the top leadership only. That means EVERY supervisor, EVERY leader, within the organization either contributes to the success or deters success. The emotional intelligence of each person either opens of the door to teamwork, or closes the door.
