Multipliers: How Great Leaders Maximize Their Organization's Effectiveness

Categories: TAHRA Program Meeting
Presented by Sean Kouplen
Chairman & CEO, Regent Bank

In this presentation, Regent Bank Chairman & CEO Sean Kouplen will discuss how multipliers help the people around them grow and maximize their effectiveness, thereby propelling their organization to achieve goals they never imagined. Kouplen will share key leadership insights and specific strategies Regent Bank has used to achieve 50% annual growth and many ‘best places to work’ awards over the last ten years.

At this program you will:

  1. Learn strategies for improving employee engagement and corporate culture scores.
  2. Learn strategies for developing a high-performance culture.
  3. Learn why certain leaders grow their employees while others don’t (and look for those leaders in the future.)
  4. Re-evaluate ourselves as leaders to determine if we are multipliers or diminishers.

Sean Kouplen is the Chairman & CEO of Regent Bank, a small business investor, and a popular author and speaker. In his role with Regent Bank, Kouplen oversees all areas of the bank including the credit function. Regent Bank has previous involvement with New Market Tax Credits so Kouplen has experience in this area and can help provide oversight in his role as a MetaFund Board Member.

On April 1, 2008, Kouplen led an investor group that purchased 110-year old Regent Bank in Nowata, OK. Since that time, the bank has expanded to Tulsa and OKC, growing from $70 million in assets to over $500 million. Regent Bank has won many national and statewide awards including Inc Magazine’s Best Places to Work and AIB’s Extraordinary Bank Award, given to the top 1% of community banks in the country.

Kouplen has authored three best-selling books and speaks to universities and business groups throughout the country. He was also the cofounder of Bixby Outreach Center, a nonprofit organization that serves needy families, and Southpoint Church, where he currently serves as an Elder. Kouplen also leads a daily call-in devotional for thousands of people throughout the country every morning at 8:17am and you are invited!

Kouplen holds numerous local and statewide leadership positions, including Chairman of the OSU-Tulsa Board of Trustees and Hospitality House Board of Directors, board member for MetaFund and Salvation Army, and is a member of the OK Bankers Association and Young President’s Organizations. His awards include ICBA Central U.S. Community Banker of the Year (out of 18 states), Journal Record’s Most Admired CEO, his fraternity’s top national alumni award, Citizen of the Year in Bixby, OK and, most recently, earning a black belt in Taekwondo.

Kouplen has been married to Angela for 20 years and they have three children- Emory (14), Kennedy (11) and Finley (8).
