The Art of Effective Networking and Relationship Building

Networking is the key to good business, regardless of your industry. Getting involved in HR and other networks are a great way to keep up with an ever changing profession, share best practices and gain knowledge from others in your field. This workshop will teach you not only how to network but how to build and nurture true relationships, have advocates, build credibility and demonstrate openness and trust. The world operates on who you know, learn to build relationships that truly make a difference. 

At this lab you will:

  • Get practical tools and techniques for speaking, connecting and communicating more effectively in uncomfortable networking situations.
  • Participate in experiential and interactive techniques, through the use of improv, games and exercises, that will help you build confidence in effective networking.
  • Create a networking plan befitting your unique personality traits.

Deborah’s experience growing up, living and teaching in the culturally rich environment of Southeast Asia have given her a unique perspective on diversity and inclusion and networking. Her cross-cultural childhood and adult years have allowed her a unique perspective on what it takes to foster successful communication, collaboration and interaction. As a former special education teacher, Deborah provides unique insight on successful strategies to create effective teamwork, interactive community and improved understanding across multiple groups. Deborah has over 25 years experience as a speaker and presenter at national conventions, mid level training seminars and strategic small groups. Her interactive, engaging and memorable sessions provide implementable strategies to improve the goals of the organization as well as to promote personal growth and development.

TAHRA is recognized by SHRM to offer Professional Development Credits (PDCs) for the SHRM-CP® or SHRM-SCP®. This program is valid for 2.00 PDCs for the SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP. For more information about certification or recertification, please visit shrmcertification.org.
