Does the Fair Labor Standards Act continually give you a headache? How are you supposed to support hundreds of employees and keep up with the latest developments in the law? The new rules announced by the Department of Labor will drastically change how EVERY employer compensates its employees. This engaging session will provide a detailed analysis of the new FLSA rules affecting the status of exempt employees and outline practical ways employers can comply with them. Rachel Crawford will analyze real life examples of how employers failed to satisfy FLSA requirements, and how you can protect your company from succumbing to common mistakes and misconceptions. Are you certain which employees qualify as exempt versus non-exempt? This session will give you confidence in classifying employees and avoiding costly litigation resulting from misclassification. In addition to addressing the recent changes in the FLSA, Rachel will provide an overview of other recent developments in wage and hour law and how employers can implement these changes into their workplace.
