Detailed Description:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepares hourly and salaried payrolls, maintains attendance, and time card records for all employees. Duties shall include but are not limited to the following:

  • Collect, compile, and enter payroll data using appropriate software.
  • Process new employees, terminations, transfers, and promotions.
  • Review wages computed, and corrects errors to ensure payroll accuracy.
  • Record changes affecting new wages, i.e. exemptions and insurance, and update master payroll records.
  • Record data concerning transfer of employees between departments.
  • Prepares and issues paychecks.
  • Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.

Qualifications/Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 2-5 years previous payroll experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to process basic functions and formulas in Microsoft Excel.
  • Attention to detail, ability to work independently.
  • Flexibility in performing tasks (i.e. other tasks interruptions, telephone, etc…).
  • Sets high personal standards of performance.
  • Must be able to pass a 10-year Background/Criminal check and pre-employment drug screen.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 2-5 years payroll experience
