TAHRA Board of Directors


PRESIDENT: Bryan WempenB_Wempen.jpg

Bryan has 15 years of experience in the field of HR, Recruiting and Management and is currently responsible for US and International Strategic alliances for Atlanta, Georgia based PeopleClues. PeopleClues is a developer of behavioral assessments used for improving employee screening, selection and retention for thousands of clients in ten (10) countries. Prior to joining PeopleClues, Wempen was a Partner with Tulsa-based Reliant a developer and provider of HR Technology focused on employee selection and retention. Bryan also serves on the Board of Advisors for assessPULSE an India based HR and assessment solutions provider for businesses.

Bryan attended the University of Nebraska at Kearney in Kearney, Nebraska where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration in 1992.

Bryan has been a member of TAHRA since 2008 and has served as the Fundraising Chair. He is currently serving on the OK State Council for HR Management as Technology Core Leader and as 2010 OK HR Conference Co-Chair. Bryan also has served on the Advisory Board with TSHA's Project with Industry and Vendor/Sponsor Chair for the 2009 Oklahoma HR State Conference.  Bryan first joined SHRM 2005.

PAST PRESIDENT: Holly Fisher, PHRH_Fisher.jpg

Holly has over 12 years of experience in the field of HR and is currently the HR Manager for Cintas in Tulsa, OK. Cintas is a service organization offering uniform and facility services product rental, document management, first aid and safety, fire protection, and promotional products to companies of all sizes across the United States. Cintas is headquartered in Cincinnati, OH and employees almost 30,000 partners.

Holly attended Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration in 1997. In 1999, Holly returned to NSU to pursue her MBA degree and graduated in 2001. In 2004, she was awarded the PHR certification by the Human Resources Certification Institute.

Holly has been a member of TAHRA since 2003 and has served on the Learning Lab Committee, Program Committee, was the chair for the Learning Lab registration subcommittee and was also the Public Relations Co-Chair for the 2005 Oklahoma Human Resource State Conference. She has also been the Vice President of Programs and was President in 2009.

Currently she serves as Past President of TAHRA. She has been a member of SHRM since 2005.

Amber Hatten has over 10 years of experience in Human Resources and is currently the Corporate Human Resources Manager for Webco Industries. Webco is a manufacturing company specializing in carbon and stainless steel tubing. Amber has been with Webco for 7 years. Webco employs 850 employees in Oklahoma, Texas and Pennsylvania.

Amber graduated in 1999 from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor's of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis on Human Resources Management. In 2003 she was awarded her Professional in Human Resources Certification. Amber has been a member of TAHRA since 2003. She has previously served on the Membership Committee and served as a Board Member at Large in 2009 chairing the TAHRA Golf Classic.

Chris Cable has been a TAHRA member since 2005, actively serving on the Membership Committee since 2008. Chris possesses over 12 years in Staffing and Human Resources; specifically providing recruitment and sales geared towards Accounting, Finance, and Human Resources. Chris joined GDH Consulting as Branch Manager in 2006 to launch its Finance & Accounting division at company headquarters in Tulsa, Oklahoma. GDH now has a Finance & Accounting staffing presence in Tulsa, Oklahoma City, Northwest Arkansas, and Dallas; led by Chris, now a Vice President at GDH Consulting. Chris is a graduate of Tulsa Community College and studied liberal arts at the University of Oklahoma. Chris intends to pursue a PHR certification in 2010.

Chris has been married to Belinda, his wonderful wife of over 10 years. They have 3 children - Kristina (18), Kandice (17) and Colten (9), and have lived in Bixby for over 10 years. Chris enjoys football (OU, Dallas Cowboys), time with family, and working with his church.

Vice President- Leadership Development- Jennifer M. Remmert, MHR, SPHRJ_Remmert.jpg

A Human Resources professional with over ten years of experience, Jennifer has worked across a multitude of Human Resource functions from Strategic Staffing, to HR Business Partner/Generalist, Employee Relations & Training Manager, to her current role as a HR Consultant responsible for the success of the company's Leadership Development efforts encompassing a specialized focused in the areas of Competencies, Coaching/Mentoring, Team Effectiveness, Change Management, and Diversity and Inclusion. Jennifer has worked in a variety of industries including telecommunications, retail, and energy and provided HR services on a domestic and international scale.

Jennifer has her Masters in Human Relations (MHR) with an emphasis in Leadership from the University of Oklahoma and currently holds an SPHR certification. She currently works for Newfield Exploration HR in downtown Tulsa, OK. Jennifer began her membership with TAHRA as a student attaining while attaining her masters degree. She also serves on the TAHRA Education Committee since 2009 and volunteers at Tulsa non-profits for the Tulsa area Alzheimer's Association personnel committee and Tulsa Girls Art School (T-GAS) Project Executive Board.

VICE PRESIDENT- LEGISLATIVE AFFAIRS: W. Kirk Turner, J.D.K_Turner.jpg

Kirk leads the labor and employment law practice group of Newton, O'Connor, Turner & Ketchum. His practice focuses on the representation of management in all areas of labor and employment law, including representing employers in state and federal court and before administrative agencies, providing counsel on legal compliance and strategic human resources decisions as well as having developed one of the leading workplace management/employee practices training programs in the region.

Kirk has been active in the labor/employment law and human resources field for many years, including serving on national, state and local professional human resources association boards for the past 10 years. Kirk is a graduate of the University Of Arkansas School Of Law and was recently selected as one of the Best Lawyers in the area of labor and employment law.

Vice President- Public Relations- Shahla WrightS_Wright.jpg

Shahla Wright brings 10 years of experience in Human Resources, most recently as the Human Resources Manager for Medical Management Professionals, a medical billing company. Prior to MMP, Shahla held the position of Senior HR Generalist at Vanguard Car Rental, where she handled a wide range of responsibilities including implementing Policies and Procedures, HR Administration and Community Relations. Shahla is a member of SHRM, TYPros and TEEOCA.

Shahla has been an active TAHRA member since 2006 and most recently served on the 2009 Return On Inclusion Summit committee. She is currently a 2010 State HR Conference committee member and serves on various committees for TAHRA including Public Relations, Learning Labs and Community Relations.

Vice President- Diversity- Grover Hall, MPA, PHR, MHCSG_Hall.jpg

Grover is an HR Business Parter at Williams. Grover has over seven years of business/human resource experiences. He has held the role of HR Generalist at Avaya- Dallas, TX, Regional HR Generalist at Coca Cola- Dallas, TX, Associate Relations and Talent Acquisition Manager at U.S. Cellular.

He has held a variety of local volunteer positions and is an active member in several community and professional associations including: TAHRA, Human Capital Institute, Kappa Alpha Psi, Leadership of Tulsa and Tulsa's Young Professionals. Grover was an active member of the planning committee for the 2009 ROI Summit for OK Business Leaders. He currently serves on U.S. Cellular's West Region Inclusion Council and completed his certification as an Inclusion Practitioner. Grover holds a B.A. in Political Science/Spanish and MPA in Human Resources from Southern University.

VICE PRESIDENT- EDUCATION: Patty Smith, PHRP_Smith.jpg

Patty Smith has more than 15 years experience in Human Resources and is currently the Human Resources Manager at Oseco, a manufacturer in Broken Arrow.

Patty has been an active TAHRA member since 1996 and has served in a number of roles, including the Public Relations Committee, the Learning Lab Committee and as an At-Large Member on the Board of Directors. She has served as Vice President of Education since 2008 . She has been a member of SHRM since 2001.

She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Oklahoma Wesleyan University with dual major in Human Resource Management and Business Administration. She was awarded PHR Certification by the Human Resources Certification Institute in 2001.

Noel Groves is a Business Development Manager for AcctKnowledge Financial Staffing, a locally owned staffing company specializing in placing accounting and financial professionals in the Tulsa Market.

Noel is a graduate of the University of Kansas with a Bachelors degree in Psychology and the University of Oklahoma with a Masters degree in Human Relations with an emphasis in Organizational Development. Noel has 10 years of combined human resource, staffing and recruiting experience, specializing in accounting and finance.

Noel has been a member of TAHRA since 2004 and is currently serving in the role of Treasurer. Noel has served on the Membership Committee (2005 and 2006), Golf Tournament Committee (2006, 2007 and 2008), Employment Law Seminar Committee (2007 and 2008), Registration Committee (2006) and has been appointed as the Registration Chair for the last two years (2007 and 2008). Noel received the TAHRA "Totee" Award in 2007. Noel was TAHRA's 2009 Recipient of the Richard J. Messer Excellence in Human Resources Management Award.

Noel is a member of Leadership Tulsa (Class 36), and was recognized as one of Tulsa's Twenty Top Leaders for 2006 by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. In addition, Noel also sits on the board of directors for the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) as the Vice President of Communications and is an active member of the Junior League of Tulsa. Noel is also the Chairwoman for Common Thread - Scott Carter Foundation.

AT LARGE MEMBER-GOLF CHAIR: Julie Callahan, PHRJ_Callahan.jpg

Julie is currently the Human Resources Manager for Mid-Continent Group. Mid-Continent Group is an insurance company that specializes in general liability, commercial auto and umbrella coverages. She has been employed with Mid-Continent Group for 11 years.

Julie received her Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Northeastern State University in 1996. She was awarded the Professional in Human Resources certification by the Human Resources Certification Institute in 2002.

Julie has been a member of TAHRA since 1999. She was the 2008 President and Vice President of Programs for 2005 - 2006. Julie has been a member of the Public Relations Committee, Membership Committee and served as the Registration Co-Chair for the 2002 Oklahoma Human Resource State Conference. Julie was also the Chairperson of the 2005 Oklahoma Human Resource State Conference and was the recipient of the Oklahoma State Council for HRM 2006 "Excellence in HRM Award". Julie has been a member of SHRM since 2002.

AT LARGE MEMBER-COMMUNITY CHAIR: Bill Young, SPHRB_Young.jpg

Bill currently is Senior Vice President of Career Development Partners, Inc. In his capacity he works with clients in the areas of talent management, leadership development, organizational effectiveness and executive coaching. Prior to joining Career Development Partners in 2009, Bill was Managing Consultant, Leadership Learning and Performance for the Williams Companies and prior to joining Williams in 2000, Bill was President of his own HR consulting firm for 15 years.

Bill has been a member of TAHRA for 27 years. He has served on the Board numerous times in the capacity of Vice President, Leadership Development (7 times) and as President and Past-President. He is the only TAHRA member to have been the recipient of the TAHRA Excellence Award, the TAHRA President's Award and the Oklahoma State Council Excellence in Human Resources Management Award.

Bill is both a Senior Professional in Human Resources as well as a Licensed Professional Counselor. He received his BA in sociology from the University of Tulsa, his masters in counseling and personnel services from the University of Maryland and his doctorate in counseling psychology from the University of Tulsa.

Diem has over 10 years of experience in the field of HR and is currently HR Manager for Winnercomm, Inc based in Tulsa, OK. Winnercomm is an Emmy award winning television production and multimedia company.

Diem attended the University of San Diego where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, minor in Leadership Studies and certification in Non-Profit Management. In 2002, Diem received her Masters in Organizational Management degree from the University of Phoenix. In 2005, she was awarded the SPHR certification by the Human Resources Certification Institute.

Diem joined TAHRA in February 2009 when her family moved to Tulsa from Orange County, California. She has served on TAHRA's Website/Technology Committee and Community Relations Committee. She is also the Registration Chair for the 2010 Oklahoma Human Resource State Conference.

Julie Odom joined TAHRA in 2008 as our Chapter Management Professional (CMP). Julie provides administrative support to the members and Board of Directors of TAHRA. This includes maintenance of financial records and membership information as well as the day to day responsibilities of a volunteer lead organization. Her most important job, however, is to serve the membership of TAHRA and assist them with any questions or needs they may have.
