We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced HR Generalist to join our team in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This role plays a critical role in the overall success of the HR department as a trusted, go-to resource for employees and managers. This role requires a high degree of emotional intelligence and critical thinking/decision-making skills to work with all levels of management and staff effectively and positively. The HR Generalist will be responsible for HR projects, assisting in administering employee benefits, ensuring compliance with labor laws, and analyzing and administration of compensation programs. The Generalist will contribute to the development of HR policies and procedures, as well as participate in employee relations and investigations under the direction of the Sr HR Director. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills, the ability to work independently, and the ability to develop effective working relationships.

Detailed Description:

COMPENSATION:

  1. Maintains the Health Departments compensation system and structure, including assisting in the evaluation, establishment, change, or elimination of position classifications.
  2. Develop compensation strategies that are internally equitable, externally competitive, affordable, understandable, legal, efficient to administer, and align with THDs mission and strategy to recruit and retain the workforce.
  3. Reviews and analyzes external market data for competitiveness; participates in formal salary surveys and provides market data reports on an ad-hoc basis; analyzes emerging trends, issues, and best practices.
  4. Assists in the review of agency compensation practices and strategy, annual salary adjustments, and compensation changes due to promotions, transfers, new hire, and other related job changes.
  5. Manages FLSA analysis and compliance, including management of the job description database to ensure the creation and maintenance of accurate and updated job descriptions.

BENEFITS:

  1. Works with the Benefits Specialist to perform benefits administration to include enrollment, claims, billing, and communicating benefit information to employees.
  2. Works with the broker and carrier representatives to completely resolve escalated claims and benefits issues in a timely manner.
  3. Serves as a contact for benefits questions, concerns, enrollment, and administration of the benefit plan and policies.
  4. Assists with administering employee benefits programs in compliance with carrier contracts, transmits necessary information to carriers, and ensures accuracy of information.
  5. Conducts benefit presentations at New Hire Orientation, assists the new hires with enrollment, and assists with open enrollment for all employees.
  6. Assist with employee information maintenance with all carriers, Employee Navigator, and updating HR systems.
  7. Assist with Health Care Reform Reporting (1095Cs)

HUMAN RESOURCES:

  1. Develops and recommends new or revisions to personnel policies to ensure the fair, consistent treatment of employees; Edits, updates, and maintains THDs Policy Handbook.
  2. Conducts investigations as part of a team to respond to potential and actual grievances, employee complaints, and disciplinary situations. Prepares recommendations to resolve conflicts or preserve the legal position of the organization.
  3. Coordinates and administers the FMLA process by tracking requests, communication, forms, certification, and documentation.
  4. Coordinate the ADA process by working with managers to document and track requests for accommodation due to employee disabilities ensuring full compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
  5. Assists management in the evaluation and assessment of employees in status changes, promotions, demotions, transfers, reinstatements, appointments, retirements, and disciplinary actions.
  6. Review and update HR and employee related forms to ensure forms are current and compliant, and all company related entities are using current and consistent forms.
  7. Ensures that all records are maintained in compliance with state and federal laws, rules, and regulations through routine audits.
  8. Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leave and policy questions.
  9. Promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace.
  10. Assist in the development and implementation of human resource policies and procedures.
  11. Compile data from multiple entities in preparation for annual audits. Gather and analyze data with useful HR metrics, like time to hire and employee turnover rates.

Qualifications/Requirements

Education:

  • Baccalaureate degree required. Master's degree preferred.

Experience:

  • Four years of progressive experience in Human Resources.
  • Two years working in Compensation and Benefits.
  • One year in a generalist or employee relations capacity is preferred.

Certification:

  • PHR and/or SHRM-CP required. Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) is a plus.
