July Learning Lab

Reigniting Engagement & Energy in the Workplace

Categories: TAHRA Learning Lab

Presented by Tatum Shurkey

As human resources professionals, HR plays a crucial role in supporting and energizing staff, particularly those who may be under-engaged or experiencing burnout. Understanding why employees “check out” is essential in addressing disengagement and fostering a healthier work environment. Incorporating strategies such as microbreaks and intentional resets can help re-energize teams, as even brief pauses have the power to restore focus and motivation. It’s important to recognize that energy is contagious—when leaders model positive, authentic engagement, it inspires others to do the same. HR professionals should prioritize tools that not only support employees through burnout but also promote a culture where people are treated as individuals, not just workers. Encouraging progress over perfection, and building genuine connections through authenticity, creates a workplace where employees feel seen, valued, and motivated to contribute.

At this lab, attendees will:

  • Learn to recognize early signs of burnout/disengagement
  • Explore sustainable motivation models
  • Discuss how to integrate practical rituals to energize teams and apply “Micro-Moments of Meaning” to daily workflow
  • Redesign engagement initiatives to include human-centered metrics
