October Learning Lab

Listening Skills for Greater Inclusion

Categories: TAHRA Webinar Meeting

Presented by Sesha Yalamanchili, President of On the Mark Consulting

Organizations are more committed than ever to creating diverse and inclusive workplaces for everyone. Now is the time to turn these good intentions into action. Even though there is no one-size-fits all approach for choosing what matters most and how to address it, developing leaders who are great listeners is essential to successfully moving your DE&I efforts forward. In the workshop we will learn about the conditions we need to create so others know we are listening–really listening.

At this lab, Sesha will teach attendees how to:

  • Give others the sense that they have been really heard during conversation.
  • Ask questions and listen — really listen — to strengthen prespective taking.
  • Encourage others to tap more deeply into their own ideas and abilities.
  • Recognize and stop behaviors that can derail listening and inclusion.
