Detailed Description:

  • Administers human resources plans and procedures, explains and implements TZMI policies and employee handbook.
  • Manages and monitors the performance review, continuous feedback, and employee development programs.
  • Performs benefits administration duties and works directly with TZMIs benefits broker to ensure claims are handled efficiently and enrollments and terminations are completed in a timely fashion.
  • Assists in the recruitment, interviewing and hiring process for exempt and non-exempt applicants, both regular and seasonal. Conducts onboarding and orientation for new hires.
  • Conducts investigations and interviews in employee relations matters, including complaints, harassment allegations, and discrimination claims.
  • Participates in employee separation meetings, performs exit interviews for separating employees, and initiates COBRA notices when applicable.
  • Coaches and advises managers on how to conduct disciplinary meetings with employees.
  • Maintains personnel files in accordance with TZMI policy and applicable local, state and federal law.
  • Makes recommendations to management with regard to process and policy changes, trends, and continuous improvement.
  • May represent TZMI in unemployment claims hearings.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field from college or university.
  • Two to four years of experience in a human resources generalist position.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification a plus.
