Detailed Description:

Essential Responsibilities/Activities:

  • Ensures accuracy of all benefits enrollment for employees.
  • Assists with the open enrollment process.
  • Works with insurance carriers, benefits providers, and other vendors to ensure smooth program administration.
  • Interprets and explains the benefits package to new hires and provides ongoing education to employees about changes in the plans, coverage details, and eligibility criteria.
  • Monitors benefits questions in Paycom under the ASK HERE feature and the internal Benefits inbox.
  • Assists in developing and presenting training and communication materials on benefits plans and programs.
  • Administers benefit and leave policies, including FMLA, unpaid medical leave, paid parental leave, paid military leave, bereavement, and jury duty.
  • Provides excellent customer service to employees, responding to inquiries, and resolving any issues related to benefits.
  • Answers complex benefit-related questions.
  • Stays up to date with legislation, regulations, laws, and trends surrounding employee benefits.
  • Maintains employee benefit profiles in Paycom.
  • Coordinates lunch and learns and other company events that are related to benefits.
  • Processes medical support orders.
  • Performs additional duties and projects as needed.

Qualifications/Requirements

Education, Experience, and Other Requirements: An individual in this position must have the following required qualifications, experience, and education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in business/human resources or related field preferred. Benefits administration experience instead of education will be considered.
  • Experience in FMLA administration.
  • Experience in the Microsoft suites; Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to perform each essential job function.
  • Ability to meet the mental demands of the job.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job.
  • Ability to pass a drug test and background check.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. This job requires visits to the manufacturing floor. This can require the use of safety shoes and safety glasses and other required PPE.

Travel: Some travel to other office locations is expected for this position. This is subject to change according to business needs.

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer and typing on a keyboard. Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
