Compensation Analyst II

This position will primarily be responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of compensation programs that align with Cherokee Nation Businesses (CNB) strategy to retain, motivate, and reward a high-performing workforce. As part of a center of expertise, this position supports the HR team in implementing programs and consulting with business leaders. Responsibilities would include some or all of the following activities: job analysis and documentation, survey participation and competitive market analysis, incentive compensation, annual compensation review(s), internal impact analysis, cost projections, communications and implementation strategies.

Detailed Description:

  • Review and analyze external market data for competitiveness; prepare reports to display and analyze data, analyze implementation cost and develop recommendations on current design, analysis, budgeting and implementation of new programs.
  • Administer compensation programs and processes including, but not limited to, new hire compensation, annual salary adjustments, promotions, transfers and other related job changes.
  • Provide guidance and consult with the human resources and business leaders on compensation related issues.
  • Manage FLSA analysis and compliance, including management of the job description database to ensure creation and maintenance of accurate and updated job descriptions.
  • Participate in formal salary surveys and provide market data reports on an ad-hoc basis; analyzes pay trends and the impact on CNB jobs.
  • Develops project plans, program communications materials, managers and employee training materials.
  • May perform other job-duties as assigned.

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in human resources, business administration, or other related field, and 3 to 5 years of compensation experience or an equivalent combination of formal education and compensation and/or human resources experience.

Additional Information:

• Effective written, communication, presentation and computer skills including working knowledge of all Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to identify problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
• Must have analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to work with large volumes of data.
• Ability to prioritize work and provide feedback on projects, policies and other department initiatives.
• Working knowledge of compensation theory, practices and trends.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Cherokee Nation Gaming Commission (CNGC) license.
